The origins of the carding machines of FILBEST date back to 1970s. The has always followed the traditional spinning process of Prato and it produces articles by using new and recycled fibers with the classical composition 80% wool and 20% polyamide, in medium-large stocks.
In 2009, FILBEST moved to Calenzano (Florence) and started an evolution process making it a modern company combining the historical tradition of the carded spinning and the current production technologies.
Nowadays, thanks to its collaborations with important Italian companies in Prato and Biella, FILBEST has been able to provide excellent quality standards of final yarns and precious fibers such as the 100% cashmere both new and recycled.
The company is able to manage its investments through an innovative process without forgetting the importance of traditions. This leads to a handcrafted and sustainable product where man’s work and experience play a pivotal role.
The company specializes in the production of yarns with precious fibers like cashmere, extrafine merino wool, angora, camel, mohair, alpaca, silk and cotton both pure and blended with wool for the knitwear and weaving in stocks from nm. 1/10.000 to nm. 1/28.000 also for the colored version.
